“I feel the world has become too fast. Too restless. Too demanding.” Could not agree more. It’s too chaotic and barreling toward shallow. Trying to “keep up” feels like swimming upstream and getting caught in a whirlpool.

I, too, have opted to be “left behind.” It’s quiet here. All the chaos has rushed by and I am left with the calm I have so carefully cultivated over the last few years. You are right in that there are many like us, but we aren’t easy to find as we keep ourselves out of the fray. That’s what makes your writing valuable to me. This is a place to connect, to hear from those like me, to be reminded I am not alone. Thank you for making and maintaining this space, Karun.

This mirrors my life in many ways and I’m thrilled to be swimming against the tide. I don’t need anyone to understand why I chose to move to a small town, live on a quiet lake and embrace my true introvert. The only person who needs to understand it is me. I’m full of joy on my 2-1/2 acre property, tending my native gardens, creating wildlife habitats, watching the deer and birds, star gazing at night, all amidst the most profound silence I’ve ever known. I have a rich life with far less. It’s all I need.
