Reminds ourselves of this. My go to chill out replenishments are making vegetable soup( lots of scraping and chopping) weeding garden, knitting sewing, spinning and reading a book. Basically doing anything with my hands by myself refills the well. Thanks for your insights so well put.
You offered solutions that are very simple to a common problem for us. I still carry a notebook and pens when leaving the house. It's my "armor", place to calm my brain in an always on world. Thank you.👏🙏😊
This is so much me. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It’s validating. I need lots and lots of down time — including downtime from Substack. Lol. I tried to write posts with computer. It doesn't work. Long hand would be better or maybe speaking and then transcribing. My words flow much better when I write in a journal. I feel I capture my authentic voice. With the computer, I feel there are seven degrees of separation, perhaps. Lol. Glad I found your Substack. It’s a nice introvert escape or oasis.
So true and it’s necessary to

Anything with hands. That's it. That's what satisfies the soul.
Wow, those things are spot on! I've even been thinking a lot about walkmans lately! The simplicity and nostalgia of cassette tapes...
Oh, Scott, don't even get me started on that...
Great post, full of helpful ideas. And I have always LOVED "Peace Piece" by Bill Evans. Thank you.
Thank you. Appreciate your kind words.Yeah, “peace piece” is a masterpiece.
Great post full of simple, effective ideas. Thank you!
That's it
Movie suggestion: The secret life of Walter Mitty.
A calming movie.

Id like to suggest the film "Patterson" with Adam Driver.
